Mathematics Key Formulas

Order of Operations: PEMDAS — Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division (L to R), Addition/Subtraction (L to R)
Proportions: a/b = c/d → ad = bc (cross multiply)
Mean: Sum of all values ÷ Number of values
Slope: m = (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁) — rise over run
Probability: P(event) = Favorable outcomes / Total possible outcomes
Percent Change: (New - Old) / Old × 100%

Science Key Concepts

Scientific Method: Observation → Question → Hypothesis → Experiment → Data → Conclusion
Photosynthesis: 6CO₂ + 6H₂O + light → C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂ (in chloroplasts)
Cellular Respiration: C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂ → 6CO₂ + 6H₂O + ATP (in mitochondria)
Mendelian Genetics: Dominant alleles (B) mask recessive (b). BB and Bb = dominant phenotype; bb = recessive
Natural Selection: Variation + Heritability + Differential Survival = Evolution

English Key Rules

Affect vs Effect: Affect = verb (to influence). Effect = noun (the result). Exception: Effect can be a verb meaning "to bring about"
Its vs It's: Its = possessive pronoun (no apostrophe). It's = contraction of "it is"
Then vs Than: Then = time sequence. Than = comparison
Your vs You're: Your = possessive. You're = you are
